Child safety & protection

How we keep children safe in our lessons, and what to do if you have a concern.

What we commit to

  • Every teacher passes a criminal background check, without exception, before they meet a student.
  • Every teacher holds a current US state teaching certificate.
  • Every live lesson is recorded.
  • Students are never placed alone with an adult in an unrecorded session.
  • Our teachers act as mandatory reporters: any suspicion of abuse or neglect is reported to the child protection agency or police in the child's state.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable consent from a parent, as the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires.

The full written child safety & protection document is being prepared for this site.
